Mating disruption is a worldwide recognized method, for the control of Lepidoptera in a wide range of crops, mainly in trees and vines. The total surface under mating disruption method approaches of 12.000.000 ha.

Mating Disruption is the method according to which, through the use of artificial sexual pheromones, is able to be avoided the mating between female and male Lepidoptera. The result is the gradual reduction of the reproductive capacity of the population as well the consequently reduction of the population and therefor the reduction of the fruit damage.

The most widespread uses of the method in Greece is :
– Control of Cydia molesta and Anarsia lineatella in Peaches
– Control of Cydia pomonella in Apples
– Control of Lobesia botranain in Grapes
– Control of Tuta absoluta in greenhouse Tomato
